A 28-year-old Kitchener delivery driver was charged, police said, for stealing a package he claimed to have delivered.
Guelph police said the incident occurred in mid-October when a resident reported she ordered a pair of pants online and had them delivered to her condo building. The delivery driver sent an email with a photo of the package inside the building’s parcel locker, but when she went to get the package, it was gone.
The building manager reviewed security video, police said, showing the delivery driver placing the package in the locker, taking a photo of it and then removing the package and carrying it out of the building.
The delivery driver was arrested Wednesday and charged with theft under $5,000.
He will appear in court Dec. 23.
