CONCORD, NH (ABC22/FOX44) - Additional funding is coming to New Hampshire's Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). Said funding is meant to sustain the program through November as the government shutdown continues.

The state Department of Health and Human Services can now continue to support those that "receive food benefits and services at local agencies" through WIC.

To advocate for funding, NH Governor Kelly Ayotte reportedly spoke with USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins. In a release from DHHS, Ayotte says she did it to "help moms and children in need."
