CHEBOYGAN – The Sault volleyball team had its hands full on Wednesday, but it never quit.

Taking on a well-rounded, athletic and supremely talented opponent in Ogemaw Heights , the Blue Devils did what they could to simply hang around.

For the most part, they did so in the third set, but it wasn’t enough, as they saw their season end in a 3-0 loss (12-25, 18-25, 22-25) in an MHSAA Division 2 district semifinal at Cheboygan.

“Honestly, we’ve been working on some things all year long, and the big thing is that we’re still struggling with a lot of those things because we’re young,” Sault coach Brittany Killips said. “We have two seniors, nine juniors, and we had four sophomores, so we’re learning.
