Justice Secretary Lammy challenged over prisoner release mistakes

Hadush Kebatu, a sex offender, was mistakenly released from prison in October.

He was later found and deported. Similarly, two other prisoners were mistakenly freed not long after – Brahim Kaddour-Cherif and William Smith.

We sat down with Justice Secretary David Lammy, and challenged him on his claim that the government has introduced the “strongest release checks” ever – and just how much of a “crisis” the prison system is in.
