NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The U.S. is set to announce the creation of a Homeland Security Task Force in Nashville.
Acting United States Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee, Robert McGuire, and leaders from other federal and local agencies are making the announcement in Nashville on Thursday afternoon.
Alongside the task force’s creation, the press conference will update the public on the latest efforts that have resulted in “charges relating to drug-trafficking, violent crime, weapons, and immigration violations” throughout Middle Tennessee, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
In mid-September, the Drug Enforcement Agency announced it had dismantled a cell of an international crime gang that was operating out of Nashville.
