Flight capacity at 40 major airports across the United States must be reduced by 10% per Federal Aviation Administration requirements as a government shutdown continues to stress the air traffic control system.
While no Iowa airports are on the list required to cut flights, trickle-down issues could affect travelers at airports in Iowa.
Eastern Iowa Airport has not been notified of any scheduling issues as of 9 a.m. Nov. 6, said Pam Hinman, director of marketing and communications.
"Passengers will need to closely monitor their flights via their airline app or website, as connecting flights may be affected," Hinman told the Register in a message.
