Kitsap County Department of Public Works is in the early stages of a project to improve the traffic light system along Silverdale Way, and a few surrounding intersections, with new AI technology.

The project has no timeline at this point, but intends to eventually install 21 signaled intersections in Silverdale with "Code Green Signal Timing technology." That system would use artificial intelligence to autonomously collect traffic data and design tailored signal timing plans using detectors at each intersection, according to Kitsap County Road Engineer Joe Rutan.
