The Bristol and Warren Prevention Coalitions recently held their annual "Red Ribbon Week" schedule of events at Kickemuit Middle School and Mt. Hope High School highlighting the dangers of alcohol and narcotics use and abuse by teens.
The series concluded Friday, Oct. 31, with the presentation of the state-wide Unsung Hero and Educator of Year awards by MADD-Rhode Island, the local arm of the Mothers Against Drunk Driving organization.
This year's recipients, respectively, were Warren Police Department Lieutenant Christopher Perreault and Amanda Corp, the Student Assistance Counselor at Mt. Hope High School.
