Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday.
The popular casual dining chain has closed its Lisbon restaurant, ending nearly two decades of operation. The closure leaves just one Ruby Tuesday location remaining in Connecticut — at 101 Ella Grasso Turnpike in Windsor Locks.
Connecticut once boasted multiple Ruby Tuesday restaurants, with locations in Enfield, Meriden, Danbury, Waterford, Shelton, North Haven, Bristol, and several other towns.
The company filed for bankruptcy in 2020, but emerged in 2021 with a new mission. However, things have not worked out for the Tennessee-based chain. Since then, Ruby Tuesday has shuttered more than 130 restaurants nationwide, according to The Street.
For comparison, Chili’s — the chain’s biggest competitor — has reported double-digit growth in multiple quarters.
