CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) -- Some voters across Charleston County will head to the polls again in less than two weeks, as three mayoral races have advanced to a runoff following Tuesday's municipal elections.
The five-candidate field for Folly Beach mayor was narrowed on Nov. 4 to real estate agent Elton Culppper and Councilman Chris Bizzell. The two will face off in the runoff election to become the island's first new mayor in more than a decade.
There was a tight race on the Isle of Palms, where incumbent Philip Pounds earned just 52 more votes than challenger Scott Pierce, a city councilman.
A runoff also awaits in Lincolnville between incumbent Mayor Enoch Dickerson III and Councilman Tyrone Aiken.
