The Warren County School Board has hired Troy Wright to lead the division as the next full-time superintendent.

Chairwoman Kristen J. Pence, Vice Chairwoman Antoinette D. Funk and board members Andrea M. Lo, Thomas J. McFadden Jr., and Melanie C. Salins voted to appoint Wright to the position and to approve his employment contract with the school division.

Wright, who most recently served as the deputy superintendent in King George County, starts Dec. 1.

Wright brings more than three decades of experience in public education, having served as a teacher, assistant principal and principal. Wright previously led Riverbend High School in Spotsylvania County, one of Virginia’s largest high schools with approximately 2,000 students.
