MORRSIVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Travelers at Raleigh-Durham International Airport are bracing for the potential impacts of new Federal Aviation Administration restrictions, which will limit the number of flights at 40 airports across the country in response to the ongoing government shutdown.
As the government shutdown continues, airports in vital markets across the country are preparing for the possible reduction of 10% of its flights beginning Friday.
RDU is not on the proposed list, but major connecting hubs for local travelers are, including all three airports serving New York City, as well as Atlanta and Charlotte.
According to FlightAware, there were 35 scheduled flights between RDU and New York City (JFK, LaGuardia and Newark), 13 to Atlanta and 9 to Charlotte on Thursday.
