BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Today’s featured US Marine Patriot is a symbol of true courage, honor, and bravery.

Sergeant Dakota Meyer became the first living Marine in nearly 40 years to receive the Medal of Honor, for his actions in Afghanistan’s Battle of Ganjgal.

Disobeying orders to stay behind, Meyer repeatedly went into enemy fire to rescue wounded comrades and recover his fallen brothers. His bravery under fire reflected the timeless Marine tradition of never leaving a brother behind.

Today, he continues to advocate for veterans, carrying forward the fight for those who served with him.
