CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - Charleston police announced Thursday they have arrested a suspect in connection with a Halloween shooting at a downtown Charleston apartment complex that left one person dead and another injured.
Zaire Christopher Nelson, 20, of Charleston, is charged with murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, and pointing and presenting a firearm.
Officers responded to the 930 NoMo apartment complex on Morrison Drive around 12:45 a.m. for reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found Aiden Gore, 21, deceased in the hallway.
Another man was found with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and has since been released.
