KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man has been charged following a deadly shooting over the weekend in Kansas City, Kansas.
The Wyandotte County District Attorney on Monday charged 22-year-old Kevin Calamaco-Morales with first-degree murder and criminal discharge of a firearm.
Officers with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department (KCKPD) responded to the shooting Saturday just before 4 a.m. near North 11th Street and Barnett Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found a woman, identified as 20-year-old Ana Juarez shot outside of her home. She was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.
Calamaco-Morales is being held in the Wyandotte County jail on a $500,000 bond. His first court appearance was Wednesday morning. He's scheduled to appear in court next for a hearing on Nov. 18.
