AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A Hays County man is facing a murder charge after a 17-year-old girl died from a fentanyl overdose, according to a Travis County affidavit obtained by KXAN.

The affidavit revealed the man to be 19-year-old Jaden Elijah Sendejo.

Sendejo does not currently have an attorney listed in his case. When he does, KXAN will reach out to his attorney for a statement.

The Travis County Sheriff's Office said the 17-year-old was found unresponsive, face down in her bed, by her older sister on the morning of Sept. 18. Shortly after EMS arrived, she was pronounced dead.

When officers were searching through the teen's room, they were able to find a small cut straw containing a white and blue powder residue. It was field tested and tested positive for fentanyl, according to the affidavi
