Proud Jimmy Thelin believes their opening Conference League point in Larnaca shows how much his new-look Aberdeen squad has grown, writes Scott Burns in Larnaca.
The Dons defied the odds to get a goalless draw away from AEK Larnaca, who had beaten AZ Alkmaar and Crystal Palace in their opening games.
Aberdeen had lost their opening two European games and had lost six in Athens but they turned things around in Cyprus with a gutsy display and clean sheet in the AEK Arena.
Thelin said: “I feel really proud of the players because I know how much they want to do well playing for Aberdeen.
