JEFFERSONVILLE, Vt. (WCAX) - Multiple people are in federal custody after an immigration enforcement action this week in Jeffersonville.
Advocates from Migrant Justice say at least five local residents are now being held in immigration detention.
It happened around 6 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of the Jeffersonville Maplefields.
Workers at the Cupboard Deli across the street say they saw it happen, but they didn’t want to go on camera. Those workers and other residents told WCAX News they were surprised to see something like this happen in a small town like Jeffersonville.
For context, Migrant Justice says that since the start of the Trump administration, they have documented more than three dozen ICE and border patrol enforcement actions across the state. And they say those have
