WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A 73-year-old Winston-Salem man was arrested Thursday after allegedly holding his spouse against her will and preventing her from leaving her home, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said.

Officers responded to the 2900 block of Hickman Lane after the victim escaped and called the FCSO Communications Center for help. According to deputies, the suspect had entered the residence during the night and would not allow her to leave or use a phone.

Deputies said when they arrived, they found Brian Justin Racin sitting in his vehicle and detained him following a traffic stop.

After an investigation, Racin is accused of breaking and entering, second-degree kidnapping, and larceny after breaking and entering. He also faces two misdemeanor charges: violation of a valid dom
