Senior Liberal Senator Sarah Henderson has expressed doubt about Sussan Ley's leadership as internal debate in the Coalition heats up over net zero.
The Liberal Party has come under pressure in recent weeks to reveal its stance on net zero, and whether it will follow suit of the Nationals which have abandoned the policy.
A time and date has since been set for the Liberal partyroom showdown , with MPs set to hold a meeting on net zero on Sunday, November 16.
Speaking to Sky News Australia on Friday, Senator Henderson, who has come out against the policy, said Ms Ley was losing support in the partyroom.
Asked how tenuous she believes Ms Ley's position is as leader at the moment, Ms Henderson said she "could not support things the way they are" in the party.
