STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. — Stockbridge is set to make history with the election of 22-year-old Jayden Williams as its next mayor.

Williams, a political science major at Clark Atlanta University, heard his name being chanted from his watch party Tuesday night after learning he had unseated two-term incumbent Mayor Anthony Ford.

"I was shocked. To beat out a two-time incumbent is really impressive for someone my age, and I said, 'Wow, the people have spoken,'" Williams said.

From being voted his freshman class president in 2020–2021 to being elected mayor in 2025, Williams says his journey has been one of service and steady leadership.
