CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A Charlotte man was charged on Thursday for assaulting a girlfriend over the weekend resulting in the death of her “unborn child,” according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said on Sunday, Nov. 2, officers were called to a domestic assault in south Charlotte off of Farmhurst Drive near Nations Ford Road.
When officers arrived, they found a female who said that she had allegedly been physically assaulted by her boyfriend, and she declined to be transported to a hospital, according to police.
Officials said they obtained a warrant for 21-year-old Arnold Santos Deras for assault on a female, misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, and battery of an unborn child.
