KINGSTON, N.Y. — Former Ulster County Legislature chairwoman Terry Blosser-Bernardo said this week that she will run for the state Senate 51st District seat next year.
Blosser-Bernardo is a Republican who is now a Sullivan County resident. She served on the Ulster County Legislature from 2009 to 2013, including two years as chairwoman. She ran unsuccessfully for Ulster County executive in 2015.
Blosser-Bernardo is vying for the state Senate seat now held by Peter Oberacker, who has announced that he will run against U.S. Rep. Josh Riley for the 19th Congressional District seat. Bernardo lost a GOP primary in 2022 for the state Senate seat to Oberacker by a vote of 10,360 to 9,747.
