PORTLAND, Ore. — A man shot by police officers during an exchange of gunfire outside a Southeast Portland gas station in September has been released from the hospital and booked into jail, the Portland Police Bureau said Thursday.
Bryan Velasco-Ruelas, 30, was lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center on four counts of first-degree attempted murder, five counts of unlawful use of a weapon, three counts of reckless endangerment and three counts of menacing.
The incident began around 8:45 a.m. on Sept. 20 in the Mill Park neighborhood. According to PPB, a man with a gun had threatened a gas station employee on Southeast Foster Road before driving off. Around 30 minutes later, a similar incident happened at a gas station at Southeast 122nd Avenue and Division Street.
