OREGON CITY, Ore. (KPTV) - A man has been convicted after prosecutors say he tried to steal nearly $2,700 worth of tires from a Les Schwab store in Oregon City.
Steven Allen Beaman, 45, was found guilty on charges of second-degree burglary and first-degree theft in Clackamas County court on Wednesday.
Prosecutors say Oregon City Police responded to an alarm at the Les Schwab store at 1625 Beavercreek Road at around 6 a.m. on March 26.
Responding officers saw a tire rolling out of the open door of the building and someone running toward the wooded area nearby, as well as a Ram pickup truck registered to Beaman with a bed full of new tires.
The eight tires found in the back of the truck were valued at $2,667.92.
Police then reportedly spoke to a woman, 29-year-old Ashley Marie Anderson,
