LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Lansing’s downtown saw the return of a beloved Christmas decoration on Thursday.
“It’s just a lot of fun. We love it. We love having them here in the traffic circle,” said Lansing Mayor Andy Schor.
The city’s signature big red holiday ornaments returned for the season, News 10 was capture the excitement.
“They’ve been down here for a long time. I don’t know exactly when we started doing it, but now it’s becoming a bigger event, said Dick Peffley, manager at the Lansing Board of Water and Light.
“A few years back, it started to be a bit of a competition for who could announce that they had been delivered to the traffic circle in front of the Capitol,” said Jen Estill, proprietor of Nelson.
