WAHOO, Neb. —

Wahoo officials extended the boil water advisory due to E. coli found in the public water system.

Originally the advisory, which affects both Wahoo and Colon residents, was set to end on Nov. 7 , but now utilities officials said it will not be lifted until "no sooner than" Nov. 10.

This is because the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy delayed the start of chlorination "to ensure compliance with drinking water regulations."

In order to lift the advisory, there must be two consecutive days of samples that show no presence of E. coli.
