STANLEY, N.D. (KMOT) – State prosecutors are expected to file more charges against one of the foster parents charged in the March death of a child in their care.
Co-defendants Jamie and Raymond Johnson briefly appeared in district court in Stanley on Thursday in separate hearings.
Both face charges of murder, child abuse and reckless endangerment in the death of a three-year-old girl.
According to court records, investigators said security footage inside the Johnsons’ residence showed the pair assaulting the girl.
Jamie was supposed to appear for a preliminary hearing and arraignment on Thursday, but the court agreed to continue the matter after the state and defense noted more charges were expected to be filed against her soon.
