LENOIR, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A Lenoir man was killed after crashing into the back of a tractor-trailer Thursday morning.
According to Lenoir Police, a semi-truck out of Florida was parked along the 2000 block of U.S. 321 on the south side of town after the driver had stopped to get directions at a nearby business. Officers say just after 9 a.m., a 2014 Honda Civic driven by 33-year-old Ryan Callaway was traveling south when it collided with the truck, parked in the right travel lane.
As a result of the crash, Callaway was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. The roadway was temporarily closed for approximately 2 ½ hours while officers processed the scene.
