COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Trump administration says starting Friday, airlines may begin cutting thousands of flights per day because of a shortage of air traffic controllers. Those cuts could create a ripple effect across the country — including right here in South Carolina.
At Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE), travelers said they’re feeling nervous about the possibility of cancellations.
“I’m really nervous coming back because I’m understanding that a lot of the flights have been canceled,” one traveler said. “I’m just praying and hoping that my flight does not get canceled. But I’m nervous.”
“Hopefully I do get to come back,” another traveler said. “If not, worst-case scenario, maybe stay a couple nights more. Maybe have to drive back, rent a car and drive all the way back — which I
