SPRINGFIELD, Ga. (WSAV) — A man was captured and arrested in connection to a fatal shooting on Tuesday in Springfield, Georgia.

The Effingham County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is investigating the incident after deputies were dispatched to the shooting on Hummingbird Lane Tuesday night just after 9 p.m.

Alonzo Jolomna Simaj was arrested after capture on Ogeechee Road after he fled to Chatham County. He was captured by Captain Gene Harley and the CID of Chatham County.

Simaj was charged with felony murder with more charges reportedly pending.

The victim, who has yet to be identified, was found deceased with a gunshot wound when deputies arrived at the home.
