LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Wednesday afternoon, Federal Aviation Administration the reducing air traffic by 10% across 40 “high-volume” markets beginning Friday morning to maintain travel safety as air traffic controllers exhibit signs of strain during the ongoing government shutdown .

Out of those 40 markets, Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston happen to be on the list.

Videos have surfaced this week of just how bad security, TSA, wait lines have been. Lines are out the door, averaging up to 4 hours in line just to clear TSA and those flights possibly being delayed and or canceled.

Although it is unclear how long this decrease will last, flyers from Laredo could possibly be affected.
