TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —The South Central Community Action Partnership is preparing for its busiest time of year as the organization gets ready for its annual “60 Hours to Fight Hunger” event.

The event, now in its 25th year, aims to provide turkeys and food boxes to families who may not be able to afford holiday meals. This year, the organization has set a goal of collecting 2,400 turkeys.

“This is one of our biggest events of the year and all of this goes directly to families,” said Michelle Picklesimer, CFO of South Central Community Action Partnership.

Last year’s event saw record-breaking numbers, with the organization collecting 2,233 turkeys, the most in the event’s history.
