JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —The Idaho Transportation Department’s South Jerome Interchange project has reached a new milestone with the opening of a new bridge on Lincoln Avenue ahead of schedule.
Construction on the project has been ongoing since early 2024. The new bridge will open with one lane in each direction as traffic shifts from the old Highway 168 interchange bridge, which will officially close tonight.
ITD Public Information Officer Courtney Wagner said the new interchange will be more efficient for drivers.
“It’s going to be kind of like a double circle. So, eastbound and westbound will have two different areas so, it will be easier to navigate through,” Wagner said.
