Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Gov. Brad Little announced Thursday that the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare submitted the state’s application for the federal Rural Health Transformation Program on Nov. 4.
The Rural Health Transformation Program aims to improve rural communities’ access to health care. If all states are approved, Idaho will receive $100 million a year for five years and could receive up to an additional $100 million a year based on criteria including rural population, the financial health of rural hospitals and the proportion of health care facilities, according to the department .
