Known for its fresh food and coffee offerings, Wawa said it plans to build and open 8-10 stores per year in Ohio, with expectations to open as many as 60 stores in the state.

Each store will employ about 35 people, with expectations of creating 2,100 new, long-term jobs because of expansion in Ohio.

Friday’s grand opening in Springdale will feature a lineup of celebrations and festivities, including a ribbon-cutting, free shirts, coffee and a hoagie building competition.

The doors will open at 8 a.m. Friday.
