EUGENE, Ore. - A 26-year-old Eugene man was arrested on Wednesday following an alleged incident of assault and aggressive behavior at Skinner Butte Park, according to the Eugene Police Department.

EPD officials responded at about 8:45 p.m. on Nov. 5 to reports of an intoxicated man who allegedly opened the door of a vehicle, punched a woman inside on the arm before he reportedly spit on the vehicle’s driver. The suspect, identified as Samson Cole Evans, was found by police sleeping near the Campbell Center, Eugene police said. Authorities said Evans resisted attempts by officers to arrest him and was subdued by a Taser.
