TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - We’re flying into the holiday travel season, and this year will be unlike any other.
Thanksgiving will be the first big test of new federal consumer protections, including no-hassle refunds. There is not yet a consistent policy on how airlines are going to use this, because it just started on Oct. 28 and some changes have yet to take effect.
”If your flight is canceled or significantly delayed for any reason, it doesn’t matter why - it could be weather related, it could be the equipment, it could be a Martian invasion, you are entitled to a full refund if you want it - but there’s a good chance you may not want it,” said Teresa Murray, Consumer Watchdog for Public Interest Research Group.
