It was a full-circle moment last month as Behind the Bench hosts Tommy Vlahos and Alex Cimino stood in front of a sports media class at Laurentian University and spoke about how they started, nurtured and grew Northern Ontario’s sports podcast for nearly five years.

It was in that same class that Cimino and Vlahos, then students in LU’s sports administration program, started BTB as a school project. Along with producer Mason Savage and branding and partnerships co-ordinator Roberto Bagnato, they have since recorded 220 episodes and created a multimedia franchise focused on community building and charity.
