OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Eppley Airfield had its first freeze on Saturday, Nov. 1 with a low temperature of 31°F. A freeze happens when the temperature drops below 32°F. Omaha has not seen its first official hard freeze yet, which is when the temperature drops below 28° for at least an hour. The city’s first hard freeze is expected this weekend.
When a hard freeze is expected, it’s important to consider a few things: your plants, your pipes, and your pets. Any seasonal plants left uncovered outdoors are at risk.
