SHELTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Two Shelton men were arrested on Monday in connection with a December 2024 arson investigation, where items from the home were additionally reported missing.
On Dec. 6, 2024, the Shelton Fire Department responded to a house fire on Village Drive. The residence was empty due to a previous fire days earlier, which was deemed accidental.
Responding firefighters and officers encountered 25-year-old Joseph Lapinta and 26-year-old Daniel Champagne on the scene of the active fire. The two men claimed they were driving by when they saw the house on fire.
During an investigation into the cause of the fire, it was determined that multiple pieces of jewelry, personal information belonging to the homeowner, women's clothing and female undergarments were missing from the home
