KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Almost everything you touch — from your phone to a soda — is made using purified water run through this reverse osmosis technology.
Thursday, leaders with the reverse osmosis company, Aqua Membranes, Gov. Bill Lee, Deputy Gov. and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter, made the announcement that they are bringing jobs and innovation to Knoxville.
Aqua Membranes will create 95 new jobs and invest $6.6 million as the company constructs its newest facility in the Forks of the River Valley Industrial Park.
Aqua Membranes makes reverse osmosis membrane elements, which help purify water and can remove Polyfluoroalkyl Substances — also known as PFAs — or lead.
Coca-Cola is a prime example of a company that uses this technology. T
