EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - William and Kathryne Pfingston are a brother and sister who were at the Eastbrook mobile home park when the November 6 2005 tornado struck.
William is now paralyzed and Kathryne sustained head injuries, but through it all, they say they’re grateful to be alive.
20 years ago today, William and Kathryne Pfingston were spending the night at their dad’s mobile home.
They say everything happened so fast.
“One minute, I was in bed, watching TV, and the next minute, my dad’s friend at the time comes in and says ‘Get in the bathroom,’” Kathryne says. “For the first time in my life, I actually hopped into the bathtub, and basically passed out from the stress. Which the doctor said was a good thing, because if I hadn’t, the injuries could’ve been much worse.”
