SEATTLE — Three brothers are seeking justice after their 88-year-old mother was brutally attacked and had her finger bitten off during a broad-daylight robbery in Seattle’s Rainier Beach neighborhood on Oct. 13. The suspect remains at large more than three weeks after the attack, as detectives continue to investigate.
Emma Cotton was on her back porch doing routine chores when she was suddenly attacked by someone who came up from behind.
"She felt somebody breathing behind her, and she said, soon as she turned around, he just started punching her, assaulting her," said her son Ricky Stuart Cotton.
The assault left the elderly woman with several injuries including fractured ribs. When the attacker demanded her jewelry, Cotton offered to remove it herself.
