Members of the community gathered at the Kenai Municipal Airport on Thursday afternoon to view the long-awaited unveiling of the Kenai Bronze Bear Family Sculpture Project. It features a mother brown bear with a freshly caught salmon, a curious cub locking eyes with travelers, and another eagerly waiting on the bank.

“One of the things that makes this project so special is how many different groups have come together to make it happen,” said Mary Bondurant, former Kenai Airport Manager.

The idea started in 2023 with a vision of adding an unforgettable landscape at the airport terminal.
