OUTER BANKS, N.C. (WAVY) - The Coast Guard Sector North Carolina rescued five people 260 nautical miles off of Cape Hatteras Thursday.
Officials with the Coast Guard report that the crew of the Magic Bus sailing vessel sent them a distress call after realizing their vessel was taking on water. In response, the Coast Guard diverted Cutter Angela McShan (WPC 1135) and launched a HC-130 Hercules aircraft and MH-60 Jayhawk Helicopter crew from Air Station Elizabeth City.
