MAZEPPA, Minn. – A southeast Minnesota eatery is closing its door.

A post on social media says The Pondy Restaurant & Bar , located on the bank of Lake Zumbro will be closing in October 2026.

The post stated:

“This past summer was filled with familiar faces, laughter, and memories we’ll always cherish. But as the season ended, business began to slow down, food prices increased and it reminded us how much small, local places like ours depend on the communities that surround them. Your visits, your kind words, and your support truly keep us going—and they mean more now than ever.
