AUSTIN, Texas — One of the members of the crew aboard the UPS cargo plane that crashed in Louisville was from Central Texas.

Capt. Dana Diamond previously served as the commissioner and chief of Bastrop County Emergency Services District No. 1 (ESD No. 1). At the time of Tuesday's crash, Diamond was working as an International Relief Officer for UPS.

David Gahagan, the current Commissioner of ESD No. 1, released the following statement on Diamond's death Thursday:
