HOUSTON — The parents of Lucy Dillon, an 8-year-old girl who died in the Hill Country floods at Camp Mystic , are honoring their daughter's memory by helping other students pursue their academic passions through a new foundation.
Lucy's family has established the Bright Like Lucy Foundation in her name, dedicated to supporting educational opportunities for children. The foundation sponsored its first major event today at Memorial Drive Elementary, Lucy's former school, hosting a STEAM night that celebrated students' projects in science, technology, engineering, art and math. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts and math.
