DES MOINES, Iowa —

The Blank Park Zoo officially broke ground Thursday on its new 'Wild Iowa" exhibit.

The exhibit will feature animals found right here in Iowa, and it also serves as a rehabilitation program for otters, eagles, and bobcats. Officials at the zoo say it's a great effort that will showcase all the beauty Iowa has to offer.

Zoo officials told KCCI the new exhibit should be complete by 2027.

The zoo also unveiled its new logo today to commemorate its 60th anniversary.
